Dan Okrent's much anticipated Sunday post in the NY Times is too little too late for anyone with any common sense. The NY Times can never recover from the past few year's violations of the public trust, on so many occassions and at so many levels. The paper has become the elite's equivalent of the National Enquirer. Reading Okrent's "reasons" for the WMD hype only infuriated me more.
The best solution at this point is to take the money you used to give to the NY Times and give it to a journalistic outfit more deserving - one that has given an unflinching journalistic eye to the real stories and the real dramas of our troubled times.
Cancel that subscription to the Times and re-apply it to one that deserves your money and your mind - subscribe to Common Dreams, AlterNet, Salon.com or Democracy Now!
Dont waste your time or money on the NY Times. Its over.
